People can be lazy even when they own their own business. I think people need to get up off the couch and actually take action to fully become what they say they want to achieve. Whenever I want to learn something about web design or graphic design or learn about self improvement or how to utilize a new piece of software I don’t ask friends how they do it, I take a class or tutorial. I’m always attending seminars or webinars, tutorials, classes, listening to audio books or reading. I’m constantly researching things. I’ve gotten a reputation as a researcher and friends and family often seek me out because they know I will delve into any topic for them to assist them.
But I think it is a truly important to look up things, follow through, and become educated in different areas. Small business owners need to become experts in their own areas. Hopefully you have your niche and will learn everything you can about your business. This becomes an asset and customers will come to you for guidance in your specific market.
People need to take action and get educated instead of sitting around and watching television at night or reading their favorite romance novel. This is not going give you the education you need to be successful in business. It amazes me sometimes when I hear people talk about the details of some fantasy like TV program or they know they entire line up of an evening on network television, yet complain they cannot find a job, or cannot find a way to increase their bottom line in their business. There is a direct correlation. Jim Rohn, used to say: You must take personal responsibility. You cannot change the circumstances, the seasons, or the wind, but you can change yourself. That is something you have charge of.”
Every person has the power to be successful. It’s what you do daily that determines it.
